New Cross Live presents

Legendary and unpredictable, the antidote to genres, Gryphon celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2023 and remain as impossible to pigeonhole as ever, with their unique blend of progressive, folk, rock, classical and early music.

Successful throughout the 1970s, touring with Yes, Steeleye Span and Mahavishnu Orchestra, Gryphon reformed four decades later and stunned their faithful admirers with their sixth studio album, Reinvention, released to huge acclaim in 2018. Get Out Of My Father’s Car followed two years later, surpassing even its predecessor with its constant streams of reinvention. Thanks to a string of successful live shows in the past 12 months, Gryphon have reconnected with their loyal fan base and won new audiences too with their originality, humour and stunning virtuoso musicianship. Back on the road again, original members Graeme Taylor (guitars), Brian Gulland (bassoon and crumhorn) and Dave Oberlé (drums and vocals) combine with Andy Findon (woodwinds and reeds), Rob Levy (bass) and Clare Taylor (keyboards, violin and vocals) to produce the latest incarnation of Gryphon’s unrivalled stylistic mix (and humour).
